Can anyone suggest ideas for reception table centerpieces that are $20 or less?
We have fifteen guest tables, a twenty-four foot long wedding party table, and an eighteen foot long buffet table to adorn. Between tablecloths, overlays, chair covers, sashes, dinnerware, bouquets, gowns, shoes, hair, makeup, VENUE (lol), caterer, and photographer, we are wayyyyy over budget. :) I am going to attempt to go slightly cheap on centerpieces if possible. Can anyone help?
If you like candles, head to the nearest dollar store to pick up some pillar candles in the colors of your choice (maybe to go with your color theme, or white to keep things simple). You can typically also find decent glass candle jars at the dollar store as well. Consider filling these with shells, stones or sand to elevate the candles (three per table sounds good, varying heights would be ideal). Ask your florist if she has any specials on flowers that she needs to get rid of, or if she has any decent-looking cast-offs she can use to create a nice arrangement for your tables. If not, consider purchasing common, less-expensive flowers like roses, tulips, or carnations, and arranging them with evergreen and babies' breath around the candles to have a nice romantic feel. If I knew your wedding theme, I could give you some more specific suggestions. :)
