Is it a good poem for a 15yr old?
What's A Dream City ? In my dream I saw I created a city Its beauty was at par with pretty night after night I spun my dream more with a golden thread of hope which was pure To make it much more interesting I added such four colors of life each string Red, to make the love bonds tight White, for day to end with a peaceful night Blue, to make each morning fresh as dew Green, to make people not mean For the world to make it seem justified With hard work each string I tied Alas! Much less I knew Almighty's will That my dream would end with a frill A place filled with emotions so deep Can only be, if seen after sleep
Well, ok, "alas" isn't exactly a contemporary expression, I agree. But I like what you did with the colors and what each color meant for you. I thought that was original. I think you forced some of your rhyme (will/frill) but **** happens doesn't it? Truth be said, this was more of a monologue than a poem. But for 15? I thought it was pretty damn good...no matter what we'd call it. So what the heck, keep writing. You might have something going on here.
