Party Drink Ideas
Many people love parties, especially a party that includes mixed drinks or alcoholic beverages. While some have a taste for only certain drinks, others are always willing to try something new. So try something new and have a party with drinks that everyone will enjoy.
Depending on the time of year you have a party it might be fitting to do themed or seasonal drinks. Beer makers provide seasonal flavors and many mixed drinks can be seasonal too. Deciding on a theme for your party will make it easier to choose from the thousands of types of drinks. However you should keep in mind that many drinks entail several types of liquor and serving a huge variety may be costly.
Christmas time is an easy season to plan drinks, the most popular of course being Egg Nog. While the main ingredients in Egg Nog don't really differ there are several different ways to make it. Each style is dependent on personal preference. Many Egg Nogs start with a base of heavy cream, sugar, and eggs. While most Egg Nog recipes include bourbon they can also be made with a variety of other liquors including Cognac , rum, or brandy. For sweeter tastes some drink recipes include peach schnapps.
Halloween is a fun time to do a party with themed drinks. Some of these themed drinks include Halloween shots with disgusting names like the Booger, Brain Hemmorage, or Green Spider. While they may look and taste good these Halloween shots don't always sound appetizing. You could serve drinks such as Toxic Refuse which includes Triple Sec, Midori, vodka, and a hint of lime juice or better yet, a Lobotomy with Chambord, Amaretto, and Pineapple juice.
A great summer themed party might include some nice refreshing specialty drinks with a beach theme. The classic Sex on the Beach with vodka and fruit juices is a popular summer drink. And just about any type of fruit blended with vodka or rum makes a cool and refreshing frozen daiquiri or margarita.
