I have a 1 year old yellow lab(Owen). He is about 50 -55 lbs and just recently swallowed a metal bell! Its christmas time and with decorating te house i found some jingle bells (about the size of a quarter and of course round. over night i guess somehow he got a hold of them and flattend one, as for the other he swallowed it! my wife said that he was hacking like something was stuck in his air way be now hes fine! sunday morning he when the hacking accured and it is now friday afternoon and hes still acting fine like nothings wrong no pain, no vomiting, still eating and drinking, plays and runs around and still having very healthy poops! (I check every poop and no bell, just to see i scaned him with a metal dector and it go's off around the bottom of his rib cage) what should I do?
If this happened Sunday (5 days ago) and the metal detector is accurate about its location there is a problem. The bell still has not passed his stomach. It will begin to break down in his belly or become a blockage. He should see a vet for an x ray and may need surgery. It cant stay in his belly.
