I made glass/rock candy and it didn't turn out right. Why?
I followed all the directions. Stir till sugar is dissolved then heated to a boil. I let it cool down and it's not hardening. It't thickness is like the thickness of the corn syrup. I put it in the fridge to cool. Is that why it didnt harden? Or can I reboil it again? Help please. No it's not humid or rainy.
You probably didn't get it to the right concentration. Check the recipe and see what temp it recommends, and use a good candy thermometer next time. You can reboil it, but you'll have to add more water and completely dissolve any sugar crystals. If you added flavorings already, you will probably have to start over.
