Any ideas for a halloween party.?
This will be tween girls and maybe a 3 and 6 year-old ,no apple dunking and nothing scary I have a black cat already as my pet I was thinking flicker light bulbs and I was thinking theme mad scientist's lab or classic halloween (frankenstein,fake spiders,huge rats)
Maybe they can relate well to Nightmare Before Christmas decorations, they wouldn't be scary. For games there's the classic pass-around-in-the-dark game where peeled grapes substituting for eyes, spaghetti for veins, jello for brains, etc. We did it in 5th grade and no one cried. It goes especially well if you do a mad scientists lab. If you want less scary than that, try Pin the Tail on the Black Cat (and I don't mean your pet!). Instead of bobbing for apples, you can hang powdered-sugar doughnuts from strings (so that they are at the kid's mouth level) and the first child to eat one wins. The doughnuts will swing a bit, so it's a challenge. And the kids will think it's funny to see everyone get powdered sugar on their faces! If carving pumpkins is too dangerous, have them decorate pumpkins with felt pens, paints, glue and scraps of felt and yarn. Have 2 teams and have a scarecrow-making contest out of a pile of clothes you provide. good luck!
