How dangerous is a cheap necklace (made in China)?
My girlfriend gave me a necklace with a pendant on it she made. The necklace itself is made of little beads/balls which are connected. Its just like a Mardi Gras necklace only with smaller beads. It is silver (probably painted) and was almost definitely made in China. I want to wear the necklace for her, I'm just worried it might have something in it really dangerous as its not intended for continued use. What are the chances the necklace contains something in it dangerous (heavy metal, etc.) and should I keep on wearing it? I tested it for lead using a Homax lead test kit and the results came out negative (did not turn noticeably pink/red).
Well, since you already tested it for lead I say you are good to go. It should be safe for use. If you get a rash on the spot that you wear it stop using it. That's about it.
