I was thinking of building me a Tesla coil of some Gold wire and PVC and BuckyTube capacitors?
Would Gold perhaps work better then copper as long as tuned right Okay sorry Silver wire then sorry Tuning is just a term I use for the primary to be away from the secondary properly this isnt a big deal sure Im rich and have nothing better to do with my time
No, gold is a poor conductor compared to copper, and do you really want to spend 10000 dollars or more for wire? How do you tune wire? edit. Silver does have a resistivity about 10% lower than copper, but the difference is small, not enough to make any noticeable change in performance. And if you compare "density resistivity", copper is actually better than silver (and aluminum is better than copper). But that is only relevant where weight is important. Which is why power cables are usually aluminum. .
