Ashton Kutcher’s in trouble for wearing brown makeup to play an Indian in an advert (Mr Paparazzi)
Oh dear Ashton Kutcher has gone and got himself in a spot of bother, well actually in the middle of a racism storm, by putting on brown makeup to play a Bollywood producer in a crisp advert. The character, Raj, says he’s looking for ‘the most delicious thing on the planet’ before doing a bit of Bollywood dancing. Not surprisingly Ashton’s impersonation, which includes an Indian accent and stereotypical garb, has upset a fair few people. Rap group Das Racist, who are from Indian descent, took to Twitter to have a go at the actor, they wrote: 'What's with the racist brownface video you talentless, pretending to care about sex trafficking piece of s***.' Blogger and entrepreneur Anil Dasg also wrote about his disgust at the advert on his website. He said: 'It's a hackneyed, unfunny advertisement featuring Kutcher in brownface talking about his romantic options, with the entire punchline being that he's doing it in a fake-Indian outfit and voice.
