Cat becoming aggressive after accident.... how to correct this?
A few nights ago Pearl ( my year old Siamese ) was running and playing around the windows alone and her foot got stuck in the curtain string and she flipped out. The other cats (6 total) either ran and hid or came to see what was going on. She was freaking out the cats that came around her starting freaking out and after I got her unhooked ( my arms are torn up) she sat in a corner and just watched for awhile. I slowing introduced the other cats back to her and she acted fine. Now she doesn't want any of the cats around her and when they are near she bites ( not aggressive just as a warning ) or swats at them ( no hissing but claws are extended). She doesn't go after them just if they are near her she gets kinda mean. Is there a way to correct this or should i just give her time... She wasn't injured ... it was her back leg and she is walking and jumping on it fine. Even after it happened she didn't walk on it funny. That's what i thought to
She is still probably sore, just not bad enough to limp. She even could just still be a bit upset or traumatized by it. That simply is her warning to them she doesn't want to be messed with -no fighting, no playing, basically "Leave me alone". Don't worry about correcting it. Give her time, and eventually she'll get back to her normal self.
