Does Christmas serve a truly valuable purpose?
I think it does. It enables most Americans (mainly Christian ones) to gorge on the feast of reclaimed meat products, pastries and other processed foods -- which enables them to store much-needed fats to combat the effects of winter.
Yes, it allows Christians to celebrate the birth of Christ, and everyone else to enjoy a superficial, meaningless, shopping driven, self indulgent orgy of food and commercialism.
