How can I get my cat to stop eating my decoration?
I have a cat ornament whose fur is made out of rabbit fur. My cat seems to like eating it. I've tried hiding it from her and putting it in places where I though she couldn't get to...but she still somehow manages to get to it. I really don't want to get rid of the ornament since it was a present from my mother...
They sell actual natural spray repellent type stuff for cats that chew on plants, however, what I have read about these sprays is that they may contain pepper, vinegar ,ect. so I really don't know if you would want this special ornament smelling like that. My only suggestion to you would be to put the ornament up somewhere where the cat can't quiet get at it and if they do get caught trying to munch on it anyways, just take a spray bottle with just water in it, and when you catch them in the act, Give those cats a few sprays of that spray bottle and kinda give a few sharp hollers of "NO!!- NAUGHTY KITTY!!!!" And I know, this gets a little irritating after maybe a million times of catching them in the act of doing things they should not be doing, but this is the only thing (thats seems harmless to the cats) that has worked for me personally as a owner of 2 cats that sometimes try to chew on things around my home that should not be chewed on! Now, they see me with the spray bottle, and they seem to know not to be doing what they were caught doing! I hope this helps! Good luck!
