What do the red and white stripes on candy canes represent?
I'm just curious because when I was little my mom told me that the candy canes used to be pure white, but the red stripes represented Jesus's blood staining the candycane. And she also said that the red that we see on the candycanes is blood from people. (She didn't like candycanes at all...) But really, that whole thing seems kinda BS'ed. Is it true, or just a lie? And if a lie, what do they REALLY represent?
