Rekindle The Holiday Feeling With Decor Helpful Hints
Christmas has long been, and I think always will be a time when the happy memories of the past and also the anticipation of creating brand new ones for the future energize our surroundings. Round about me everyone is more positive, loved ones happier and the air crisp with energy. The season calls for us all to design our homes along with any part of our life in a way that complements our joyful mood. This is the best time to try different ideas and arrangements so that we are able to also add our own touches to the memories we will be creating this year instead of decorating our house like we always have. Even though we could simply go to the mall, or buy some quality home decor on the internet, we also have a lot we can do at home.
A fantastic kick off point in this adventure is the front door. For as long as I could recall doors would always have wreaths during The holiday season. The only deviation would be the frills, blooms, pinecones and dried accessories on it. A fresh idea worth testing is not to utilize wreaths but garlands instead. Hang a garland at the top part of the door’s threshold letting the ends to fall to the sides so it frames the door. Do not worry that the entire door is not totally defined less is more. Also trim the garland like you would your Christmas tree and it'll seem like a portal to all things Christmas. On the flip side rather than the traditional garland that we always place on our mantel try a different approach to bringing the Christmas spirit to this part of the room. A good idea will be to place various candles on it. Buying candles that have a Yuletide theme is something our family has been doing for a while. Candles elaborately shaped just like trees or just those simple ones in the Christmas colors of red and green will work nicely. You have the option of organizing them in various ways, by size, theme color etc., you may also mix in fresh flowers to brighten it up. Remember to use candle colors that pop like red, cranberry and vibrant hues of green.
Christmas tassels are not only for curtains you can also suspend them on door knobs, at the end of tables, desks or drawers. These decorations are noticed as soon as a visitor enters a room. What I like about tassles is that it gives a little color and decadence to a room, not too much, just sufficient to make it interesting. We also need not purchase new things or Christmas specific accessories just to make our houses ready for the holidays. An accessory like a vase, bowl or bottle that have colors associated with the holiday like gold, green or red can be used as decorations on center or side tables. In keeping with table ornaments, when having family dinners together this season bear in mind to keep within the theme with the use of Yuletide colors for accent items. Don’t go overboard and buy green or red dinner plates just one or two items will do like the bowl that holds the main dish or table napkins. If you really want to really impress, determine which Christmas recipes you might be preparing on Christmas day, assess the colors concerned, and select table decorations which are matching the colors present in the meal.
During the holidays our family generally set aside time for gift wrapping. This year do not hold back with the ribbons and wrapping paper. Think about gift wrapping the present to look like it is overflowing with love. Let the person you are gifting believe that the gift isn't just the box but also the way you spent time to wrap the gift.
