How can I resize a photo?
I need to rezise a photo so it can fit on a Jones Soda bottle (Christmas Present) but I don't have photoshop and with all my photo editing programs it's just not working the way I want to. Any suggestions??? 1. Finding a Suitable Photo The space you have for your photo is 2.25" inches wide and 1.875" inches tall (or 675px x 563px pixels at 300dpi). -please use these dimensions as maximums. Not matching the size to exactly those dimensions may distort your image, giving it a "funhouse mirror" look to your image. If the orientation of your image is landscape, size it according to the 2.25" (675px) width max. If the orientation of your image is portrait, size it according to the 1.875" (563px) height max. Black and white photos are popular, and color photos have a powerful impact. It's your choice. Just make sure it is clear, sharp and has suitable contrast. Picasa is free software that seems to offer what you need (havent tried it myself). From my personal experience there are a few things you want to look at here. 1. Keep the aspect ratio constant. i.e. keep any changes you make to the height and width consistant, the fraction of "height/width" should stay the same. 2. You might have to crop the image once you have one of the axis (height or width) matched up nicely, so that it fits just right. 3. If its getting pixelated when your resizing, and your resizing the image to make it smaller, try blurring the image beforehand. 4. DONT do it in MS Paint, and save at the highest possible DPI you can. Sometimes an image will look clear on the computer monitor, but when it comes to print it, if the DPI is too low, the printed image will look pixelated. Higher DPI gives you the higher quality finish. You might not be able to choose that as an option in any of your programs though. Most of all, good luck, and I hope they enjoy the present :)
