How do i get a really bad smell out of a vintage dress?
I bought a beautiful vintage dress the other day from a thrift store for £5 but i noticed afterwards that it smells absolutely disgusting. I have washed it twice and it still smells exactly the same - so bad it is unwearable. Is there any way I can get the smell out without having to dry clean it (which seems a bit ridiculous as it would be much more expensive than the dress itself)???
I would get it dry cleaned and disinfected. Cheap vintage clothes are untreated, meaning they could still harbour skin conditions and disease from previous wearers. The smell is a warning! And if the dress is gorgeous then it deserves to be treated like that, however much you paid for it.
