One of a Kind Gift
We all grew up giving gift for holidays and birthdays or just because. We did not have a great deal of money. My parents worked hard for everything that they had and everything that they gave to us. {I think this is why anything extra that was given felt like a gift}.My mother has always been very giving.

As adults we try to carry on what we‘ve learned about giving. I try to buy items on sale and one of a kind gifts to pick up, I know someone would like and store them away for a rainy day. When it comes time for a gift giving occasion I have a supply of things to give. My favorite thing to do is find one of a kind gifts to give to who I’m getting it for so it fits there personality some people like to make unique gift basket. That’s were the gifts and such come in to the picture that you pick up through out the year. Just buying a pre-made basket doesn’t show care and have a lot of filler.
To start my unique gift baskets I find a container that suits the person I am giving the gift too. You can use most anything. Some times you can use the basket or container as the main gift or just to hold the other items. Christmas is a good holiday to give baskets it allows you to keep to a budget and makes it look like a lot more than it is. My two sisters are both master gardeners. She has a beautiful back yard. I started my gifts by purchasing sturdy watering cans that would be the basket for the gift. Inside you can put gloves, pelt food for the garden a spade, rake, a spray bottle and little shears . On the handle of the water can I tied a pair of garden gloves that were folded together and fanned out to look like a bow. My ex-mother in-law loved the basket. Having the gardening tools given in the winter time gave them extra hope that spring was on its way.
I have also given the baskets that are filled with personal care products. You can make your own unique baskets instead of the pre bought ones. That way you can give them what fits them the most their favorite perfume or the all time favorite candy. You can also do large family baskets if you exchange gifts with close family friends a little of something for everyone in the family. Here are some ideas for something like a close friend of the family a deck of card, some flavoring for home made popcorn, candies gift card for movie rentals a couple of small stuffed animals for the kids. The container was a flat basket that had a lid so the cards and dice could be stored in it. It makes families come together I know I loved family night even though I didn’t want to admit it then. It is fun to use your imagination and to put together gifts that people will enjoy because they were made specifically for them.
