Spacedog Shakes Paws With “Vic” The Interactive Koala For Another Revolutionary Partnership With Qantas

Based on the unique success of "Vic's Daily Giveaway" in 2005, Qantas Airways and Spacedog, the interactive marketing agency of record for Qantas North America, have again partnered to launch an enhanced version of the campaign at qantascom/us from September 4th through the 29th in 2006. This innovative campaign utilizes proprietary Natural Language Processing technology to power the promotion and represents an efficient way to break free of the one to many communication model by addressing visitors individually. All collected conversational information will be used to improve future Qantas sales team and marketing campaigns.
South Pacific vacations have a new guide thanks to Qantas' April 2005 launch of an interactive new program called, "Vic"; whose friendly demeanor is hoped to allurepotential visitors to turn their Down Under Dreams into reality. Results from the 2005 campaign showed an average brand interaction time "talk time" of 8 minutes and 25 seconds. 53% of the people who entered the sweepstakes chose to subscribe to the Qantas eTravel Club newsletter. This promotion month showed 36% more visitors when looking at the past 12 month average.
Proving the attractiveness of "talking" to a koala, 84% of the people who entered the contest started an optional travel behavior survey and 95% of those who started the survey, finished it. 24% of people who started the Vic section came back for the second interview, when it comes to Qantas.
"This project is less expensive than a sweepstakes we would've hosted on a media associate's site although it does necessitate more resources," said Suzanne Hornwood Appel, Qantas eCommerce marketing manager. promotional resources, partner marketing opportunities, prizes supplied by partners and viral word of mouth marketing."
