Why are angel decorations and Christmas tree toppers depicted as women?
When the angels in the Bible are said to be men and indeterminate genders? I'm not trying to say I think it should be changed. I just was wondering peoples opinions on why it was this way, and what they thought about it. jack- Yeah I guess marketing does have to do with it, but I don't think male angels would have been fat and smelly anyway... Enchanted Gypsy- Probably a white robe with big white angel wings like you see male angels in in plays and stuff.
Probably for the same reason many see Jesus as blond and fair skinned. Appeal to the masses, Besides, how many pretty outfits could you dress a male angel in? BB )O(
